Kathmandu, Nepal, November 4, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally has reached to 182,923 after 3,309 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours.
According to Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), of the newly infected cases Kathmandu Valley alone witnessed 1,878 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
Of them, 1570 new cases were in Kathmandu district, while 189 in Lalitpur district and 119 in Bhaktapur district, Gautam said during a virtual press briefing on Wednesday.
3,309 new cases of coronavirus were detected while conducting 13,144 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests at various labs across the country in the past 24 hours, he said.
With the updates, there are currently 36,911 active cases of coronavirus across the country.
Similarly, 3,844 persons who had earlier tested positive for coronavirus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With this addition, total recovery has climbed to 144,978.
Likewise, Nepal recorded 30 fatalities related to the coronavirus in the past 24 hours. This is the single day record high of coronavirus related death. With the addition total death due to the infection of coronavirus has reached to 1,034.
