Nepal’s Covid-19 tally jumps to 136,036 with 3,790 new cases on Monday

Kathmandu, Nepal, October 19, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally jumped to 136,036 after 3,790 new cases reported in the past 24 hours. 

Of the newly infected cases, 2,388 were recorded in Kathmandu valley alone. With the new addition, total coronavirus infection tally in Kathmandu valley has reached to 57,270.

According to Jageshowr Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), of the new records, Kathmandu district alone recorded 2,008 cases while 281 in Lalitpur and 99 others in Bhaktapur.

With the new updates, there are currently 40,778 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country. Among the infected persons, 4,470 have been staying at quarantine facilities, spokesperson Gautam said during the regular press briefing on Monday.

Likewise, 2,335 people, who had earlier contracted with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the last 24 hours. With the new addition, total recovery cases have reached to 94,501.

Similarly, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus reached to 757 after 18 new fatalities recorded in the past 24 hours.
