One million doses of Covishield vaccine arrives in Nepal

Kathmandu, Nepal, February 21, 2021: One million doses of Covishield vaccine that was procured by the government of Nepal from neighboring India has arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday. 

The vaccines that were produced by Serum Institute of India were brought via Air India's New Delhi-Kathmandu flight. 

The vaccine was jointly developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca- a British-Swedish pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical Company. 

The government of Nepal has planned to give a vaccination to people above 60 years of age beginning from March 7.
