Police arrest supporters of Dr. KC while staging protesting in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Nepal, September 26, 2020: Supporters of senior orthopedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC have been arrested by police while they were staging a protest at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu on Saturday.

At least 17 supporters were arrested on the charge of staging protest at the restricted zone in Maitighar Mandala and publicly lampooning Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. 

The protesters were protesting by wearing the face masks of PM Oli to expres solidarity with Dr. Govinda KC, who has been staging hunger strike demanding reform in the medical sectors. 

Senior orthopedic surgeon Dr KC has been staging his 19th hunger strike for 13 days demanding reforms in the medical sector. 

He was forcefully admitted to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital after his heath situation begun to deteriorate.
