Kathmandu, Nepal, March 15, 2020: Government heads of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries have vowed for their commitment for the joint efforts to tackle the spreading fear of coronavirus outbreak.
During a video conference held on Sunday evening, the leaders of SAARC countries have shared measures taken in their respective countries to control the coronavirus. Likewise, the leaders also made their commitment to work together as collective efforts to control the spreading of deadly virus.
Taking part in the conference, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is also the chair of the SAARC, elaborated about the efforts taken by the Nepal government to control the spreading fear of coronavirus, which is lately renamed as COVID-19.
He also thanked his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi for taking timely initiation to control the deadly virus.
Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bhutan Prime Minister Dr. Lotay Tshering, Afghani President Ashraf Ghani, Maldives President Ibrahim Solih, Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Special Advisor of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan Dr. Zafar Mirza along with Prime Minister Oli and Indian Prime Minister Modi took part in the video conference.
