Thapa, Who Died in Butwal, Tested Negative for Corona Virus

Butwal, Nepal, March 30, 2020: The 34 year old patient Babu Ram Thapa from Sainamaina municipality-4, Rupandehi, who had breathed his last at Butwal based temporary corona virus hospital during the course of treatment of possible corona virus on Sunday, has tested negative of corona virus (COVID-19).

Lumbini provincial hospital's information officer Dr Bishnu Gautam has stated by issue a press statement on Monday that lab test of his swab in the laboratory for twice resulted negative of corona virus. According to him, swab test report of deceased Thapa sent by Kathmandu based National Public Health Laboratory has turned out to be negative of corona virus. 

The UAE returnee Thapa had died at the isolation ward of the hospital.  As his health condition was reported to have had similar to the global pandemic, corona virus, it was suspected earlier that he would have infected from the corona virus.

It is said that he was admitted at the Hospital on March 26 after he suffered of high fever and respiratory related ailments. However, the hospital has not mentioned about the reason behind Thapa’s death. Family members have also alleged the hospital administration that severe negligence from the Hospital side was the reason behind Thapa’s death.
