Kathmandu, Nepal, June 13, 2022: Responding to the widespread criticism from in and outside of the party, the CPN (Maoist Center), a major ally of the incumbent coalition government, has been preparing to recall the Finance Minister Janardan Sharma from the government.

Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has already asked him to step down from the post before making decision to remove from the ministerial portfolio, claims a source close to the party. 

It is said that party Chairman Dahal instructed finance minister Sharma to resign from the post after some influential leaders of the party namely as Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Barsh Man Pun exerted pressure to this effect. 

Alleged charge of illicit connection with some vested interests groups while preparing budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2079/080 has fueled to raise demand for his resignation though he has already faced criticism for failing to show performance to overcome the economic crisis of the country.

Responding to the media reports that some people come from outside the ministry representing the finance Minister Sharma had created interference while preparing the fiscal budget, some lawmakers have also raised demands of his resignation from the post. In the report, it was claimed that the people of finance minister Sharma had changed the tax rates of the budget as well.

Speaking at the meeting of the House or Representatives (HoR), CPN-UML lawmaker Yogesh Bhattarai demanded that the government should clarify about the interference of some people in the Ministry of Finance during the preparation of the budget.
