Kathmandu, Nepal, March 1, 2022: Nepal and India have signed on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for long-term supply of Urea and DAP fertilizers from India to Nepal under a government to government (G2G) arrangement.
Secretary of the Agriculture and Livestock Development Ministry Dr. Govinda Prasad Sharma and his Indian counterpart Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi signed in the MoU through the virtual means on Monday.
In the signing in ceremony, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Mahindra Ray Yadav, Ambassador of India to Nepal Vinay Mohan Kwatra, officials of the respective Ministries and Embassies of both India and Nepal were also present.
Following the signing in ceremony, Indian Secretary Chaturvedi expressed his hope that the MoU would help to boost bilateral cooperation in the agriculture sector by supporting Nepal’s economy and food security.
With the signing in the MoU for long-term supply of Urea and DAP fertilizers from India to Nepal under G2G arrangement, it is expected to help to solve the shortage of fertilizer in Nepal.
