Kathmandu, Nepal, February 20, 2023: The visiting Namibian cricket team has concluded its Nepal tour without a single victory. The Namibian cricket team has lost all four matches of the Triangular Series of the ICC World Cup League 2 after they succumbed to a 43-run defeat against Scotland at the TU ground in Kirtipur on Monday.
Invited to bat first, Scotland posted 221 runs before being bowled out in 48.4 overs. Christopher McBride scored the highest 47 runs while Tomas Mackintosh and skipper Richie Berrington contributed 34 and 32 runs respectively. In the match, Ruben Trumpelmann grabbed his career-best five wickets for 30 runs and Tangeni Lungameni pocketed a couple of wickets.
In reply, Namibia wrapped up for 178 runs in 38.4 overs despite having a decent start. Being 112/2 at one stage, Namibia lost eight wickets for just 66 runs. Opener Lo-handre Louwrens scored 52 runs, while skipper Gerhard Erasmus and Zane Green assisted 43 and 25 runs. No special contribution from other batters saw a collapse for the African side. Mark Watt pocketed four scalps while his fellow spinner Michael Leask grabbed three wickets. Brandon McMullen and Chris Greaves also picked up two and one wicket respectively.
Earlier, Namibia had lost the opening match against hosts Nepal by two wickets before facing a 10-wicket hammering by Scotland. They had lost by three wickets in their second match against Nepal before losing their final match of the series on Monday.
