Australian Prime Minister Morrison Suggests International Students To Go back To Their home Countries

Kathmandu, Nepal, April 3, 2020: Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has on Friday suggested the internationals students to go back to their home countries. The statement of Australian Prime Minister would affect thousands of Nepali students in Australia.
 
According to the media reports, Australian prime minister made the statement after a Cabinet meeting on Friday stating that international students can go back to their home countries if they are unable to stay there owing to the worsening situation amid novel corona virus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Australia must focus on its citizens and its residents to ensure that we can maximize the economic supports that we have, Australian Prime Minister Morrison states. ‘Our focus and our priority are on supporting Australians and Australian residents with the economic supports that are available,’ Morrison had stated, states the media reports.

Australian Prime Minister Morrison's statement has come at a time when hundreds of thousand Nepali students living there in Australia have repeatedly been expressing their concerns for any relief package from the Australian government.

As international students including the Nepali Students have no access to the Australian Federal Government's JobSeeker payment, they have to deal with the COVID-19 crisis without the financial safety.
