By-election Concludes In A Peaceful Manner

Kathmandu, Nepal, November 30, 2019: The Election Commission (EC) has said that by-elections held on Saturday to fill 52 vacant positions in three-tiers of government have been concluded in a peaceful manner. 

Though minor explosions were occurred in Kaski district targeting the polling centers, nobody was hurt in the explosion. 

The by-election was held on Saturday to elect people's representatives in various 52 vacant posts in 37 districts of the country.

A total of 337 candidates including 21 for the post of House of Representatives member, 43 for State Assembly member and 273 for various positions at the fray. 

The voting was held for a member of the House of Representatives in Kaski constituency-2, while for State Assembly members in Bhaktapur, Baglung and Dang district. 

Likewise, the by-election is also held for the mayor at Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City and other rural municipalities for the Chef, deputy chief and ward chairs.
