Kathmandu, Nepal, Aug 3, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally has reached to 20,750 after 418 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours.
Among the newly recorded new cases, 51 persons were from Kathmandu valley alone, Dr Jageshar Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population said during a regular press conference on Monday.
As of now, total of 14,961 patients infected earlier with the virus have been discharged after recovery, spokesperson Gautam said during the press conference. There are only 5,732 active cases in the country.
Likewise, death toll due to the coronavirus infection has reached to 57 after a patient, who was receiving treatment at the Koshi Hospital COVID-19 Treatment Center in Biratnagar, died on Monday.
