Kathmandu, Nepal, October 18, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally reached to 132,246 after 2,942 new cases recorded on Sunday.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) among the newly infected cases, 1,698 were from Kathmandu valley alone.
With the new addition, total number of infection cases in Kathmandu valley reached to 55,182.
Dr. Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the MoHP, said during a virtual media briefing on Sunday that there are currently 39,341 active cases of infection in the country.
Likewise, 2,326 people, who had earlier contracted with the virus, have been discharged after recovery. With the new addition, total recovery cases have reached to 92,166.
Death toll related to the coronavirus reached to 739 after twelve fatalities have been reported on Sunday.
