Chitwan, Nepal, February 28, 2020: Ruling head Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has reiterated that the secretarial decision to recommend the party’s vice chairperson Bam Dev Gautam to appoint as the National Assembly member will come into implementation.
Speaking at a brief press meet organized by Press Association, Chitwan at Bharatpur Airport on Friday, Dahal said ‘I could not imagine that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will not implement the decision taken by the party’s secretariat meeting.
Dahal has made the statement at the time when Oli has been reiterating that he will not implement the decision taken by the secretariat meeting to recommend Gautam as the member of the National Assembly.
Following the decision to recommend Gautam as the member of the National Assembly, the differences of the party has come onto surface. Prime Minister Oli wants to continue the incumbent finance minister Yub Raj Khatiwada in the post by continuing in the post of national assembly member.
The secretariat meeting of the NCP held on Wednesday had decided to recommend NCP vice-chairperson Gautam for nomination by the president to the National Assembly. As per the constitutional provision, the president will appoint a National Assembly member on the recommendation of the government.
