Tanahu, Nepal, November 2, 2019: Nepali Congress (NC) Sher Bahadur Deuba has reiterated that his party would never go against the spirit of federal democratic republic system.
Addressing a book-release program in Damauli on Saturday, NC President Deuba, who is also the leader of the main opposition party, challenged the government head Nepal Communist Party (NCP) not to put blame on the NC for posing threat to the constitution and federalism.
There is no necessary to doubt about the commitment of the NC towards constitution and federalism, Deuba said adding that the NC would never deviate from the principles of federal democratic republic system.
During his address, he also accused the government for not only ignoring the main opposition but also the values and spirit of the democracy and consensual politics.
During the program, senior leader of NC Ram Chandra Poudel and General Secretary Shashank Koirala also underlined the need of unity among all the political parties for the institutionalization of democracy and the constitution.
