Floods followed by torrential rainfall swept away at least 25 people in Sindhupalchok district, two bodies recovered

Sindhupalchok, Nepal, July 9, 2020: AT least 25 people feared dead due to massive floods that swept away a settlement at Bahrabise Municipality-5 and two houses in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality of Sindhupalchok district on Wednesday night.
According to the reports, two persons have found dead while 23 are still missing in the floods. As the whereabouts the missing people are yet to be ascertained, it is feared that the missing people would have swept away by the floods.   
Sindhupalchok District Administration Office (DAO) has confirmed the incident. The dead bodies found in the flood are identified as Nikesh Basnet and his minor daughter. 
The floods occurred at around midnight has swept away at least 14 houses located at Jambu Bazaaar of Bahrabise Municipality-5, wherein 19 persons are missing while four persons went missing at Bukote in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality. 
Torrential rainfall came from the midnight on Wednesday has created a havoc in the districts triggering floods and landslides.
