Former Nepal Army Chief Chhetri to be investigated on the charge of corruption

Kathmandu, Nepal February 14, 2020: State Affairs and Good Governance Committee under the Federal Parliament has decided to investigate former chief of army staff Rajendra Chhetri against his alleged involvement in irregularities when he was at the helm of Nepali Army. 

The parliamentary committee has made the decision to investigate against immediate past Nepal Army Chief Chhetri responding the recommendation of a subcommittee that recommended investigating through the full committee, Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and the Department of Money Laundering Investigation (DoMLI).

The parliamentary sub-committee has reached on the conclusion that Chhetri would have misappropriated around Rs 4 billion when he was leading NA. Chhetri had led the Nepali Army from 10 September 2015 to 8 September 2018.
