Goverment decides to extend lockdown until June 14

Kathmandu, Nepal, May 30, 2020: The government has decided to extend the ongoing lockdown, imposed since two months with the aim to contain the spreading of coronavirus, COVID-19, till June 14.

A cabinet meeting held on Saturday at Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli´s official resident, Baluwataar, made the decision to this effect.

The government´s decision has come at the time when there was a spreading speculation that the government would change on the existing modality of the lockdown considering to the severe impacts in the life of the people.

Revealing the cabinet decision to extend the lockdown, government spokesperson Yubraj Khatiwada said the lockdown will be implemented considering to the situation of  coronavirus in the locality.
