Government of Nepal decides to extend lockdown by 15 days

Kathmandu, Nepal, May 17, 2020: The government has on Sunday extended the ongoing lockdown by 15 days.

A cabinet meeting held at Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli´s official resident at Baluwatar of Kathmandu made the decision to extend the ongoing lockdown till April 2.

The government has made the decision on the basis of the recommendation of the Ishow Pokharel led committee to extended the lockdown.

As the numbers of coronavirus positive cases have increased day by day and the numbers of COVID-19 cases reached to 295 imcluding to the deatha of two persons due to the coronavirus, some have apprised the decision while some have criticised for ineffective lockdown.
