Kathmandu, Nepal, May 7, 2019: Government’s policy and program has been passed with majority of votes amidst the protest from the fringe parties including the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC).
A meeting of the House of Representatives passed the policy and programs presented by the government for the fiscal year 2076/77 on May 3.
Though the main opposition Nepali Congress party raised their objection over the government’s policy and program demanding corrections in some points, the parliament passed with majority votes notwithstanding the concerns raised by the NC.
As the NC lawmakers raised some questions expressing their dissatisfaction to the response of the Prime Minister to the parliament, Prime Minister KP Shara Oli denied giving answer.
Following the statement of Prime Minister Oli the NC members of parliament stood from their respective seat as the Prime Minister tried to respond to the supplementary questions.
Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara had made repeated requests to the MPs to take their respective seats. But the NC lawmakers denied doing so. the policy and program was declared to have passed with majority votes.
Meanwhile, the National Assembly meeting also passed the policy and programs with a majority votes. The policy and program was passed by rejecting the amendment proposal registered by the NC lawmakers.
