Kathmandu, Nepal, September 17, 2024: The government has formed a study committee to address the citizenship issue.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has formed a five-member committee under the leadership of Tokraj Pandey, the head of the policy, planning, monitoring, and evaluation division of the MoHA.
The committee is mandated to investigate current issues concerning to the citizenship laws and regulations.
The committee is expected to submit its report within 15 days by analyzing the existing legal system in order to solve the problem and recommending laws, regulations, and procedures.
