Kathmandu, Nepal, November 24, 2020: Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla is arriving in Nepal on November 26. The scheduled visit of the Indian foreign secretary is taken importantly as it is scheduled shortly after the visit of two security chiefs of India.
Nepal and India have jointly announced Shringla’s two-day Nepal visit on Monday. This will be the first visit of the Indian foreign secretary to Nepal since Shringla assumed office.
Indian foreign secretary Shringla is paying a two-day official visit to Nepal at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart Bharat Raj Poudyal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has said issuing a statement on Monday. According to the MoFA, the visit is in continuation of the regular exchange of high level visits between the two friendly neighbors.
During his two day stay in Nepal, he is scheduled to have meetings with high level dignitaries of Nepal. However, details of about the meeting are not revealed yet. Likewise foreign secretaries of both the countries are going to hold bilateral meetings to discuss on wide ranging areas of cooperation between Nepal and India.
Likeiwse, he is also scheduled to hand over coronavirus (COVID-19) related support to the Government of Nepal. According to a press statement issued by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs ‘The visit is in keeping with the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries and the priority India attaches to its relations with Nepal.’
