Indian news channels except Doordarshan banned in Nepal

Kathmandu, Nepal, July 9, 2020: The government of Nepal has decided to ban the Indian news channels.

Following the government decision, the cable service providers have also decided to stop airing Indian news channels in Nepal.

With the decision, all the Indian news channels except Doordarshan, the state-owned television channel in India, will not be broadcasted in Nepal.

The government has made the decision after some Indian channels have been broadcasting misleading news contents related to the government and parties.
