Kathmandu, Nepal, February 21, 2020: Mahashivaratri, a great festival of Hindus is being observed across the country with much more fanfare today.
The people are thronging in temples, rivers and ponds to worship Lord Shiva from early morning on Friday. According to the Hindu methodology, Lord Shiva was born on the day of Shivaratri.
Not only had the Hindus in Nepal but also across the world used to mark the Mahashivaratri.
In the festival, people organize bonfires at public squares, houses, temples and shrines and perform prayers to warming Lord Shiva believing that the Lord also feels cold on this day.
In Kathmandu, hundreds of thousands devotees from within and outside the country, have thronged the Pashupatinath since early morning to worship Lord Shiva.
