Main Opposition Nepali Congress Obstructs Parliament, Scheduled For Friday Afternoon
  Kathmandu, Nepal      February 06 2020

Kathmandu, Nepal, February 6, 2020: The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has on Thursday obstructed the proceedings of the House of Representatives (HoR) protesting the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA)’s move to implicate its senior leader Bijay Kumar Gachhadar in the corruption case related to the Lalita Niwas land scam.

Next meeting of the HoR is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Friday after lawmakers of the main opposition NC denied the request of Speaker Agni Sapkota to precede the house session.

Speaking at the meeting, NC lawmaker Pushpa Bhusal and Badri Pandey raised question over the CIAA's impartiality while implicating the persons involved in the scam. The NC lawmakers blamed the government and the CIAA claiming that NC leader Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar was implicated due to the political biasness rather than the facts and findings.

The NC Lawmakers have a claim that the corruption cases should have filed against former Prime Minister and senior leader of the ruling head Madhav Kumar Nepal and General Secretary Bishnu Poudel if the CIAA was not influenced by the government for the political revenge.
