Makwanpur District Court extends judicial custody for four persons on the charge of murdering Sushmita Thapa

Hetauda, Nepal, July 15, 2020: Makwanpur District Court has on Wednesday extended the judicial custody of four persons of a family involved in the alleged charge of murdering 24 year old Sushmita Thapa. 

A single bench of Judge Sita Sharma Adhikari made the decision after initial hearing on the murder cases filed by the District Government Attorney Office, Makwanpur.  

Police had on June 19 arrested the deceased’s father-in-law of  Prakash Thapa, 58, mother-in-law Tulasa Thapa, 50 and sisters-in-law duo Durga Thapa, 27 and Sita Thapa 23 on the charge of murdering Sushmita. 

District Government Attorney Office, Makwanpur had lodged a murder case at the District Court against father-in-law Prakash Thapa and junior sisters-in-law Sita Thapa  demanding life imprisonment penalty while mother-in-law Tulasa Kumar Thapa,  senior sisters-in-law Durga Thapa and her husband Arun Karki , 34, were indicated as the accomplices to the crime. Karki is yet to be arrested.
