Kathmandu, Nepal, September 9, 2021: Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Vice President Fatema Z. Sumar and Assistant Vice President Jonathan Brooks meet CPN UML chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at latter’s Balkot of Bhaktapur based resident on Thursday.

During the meeting the MCC delegate leader Sumar urged Oli to support to endorse the MCC from the parliament as per the agreement held earlier with the government.

The government and the MCC had reached an agreement in 2017 to implement the MCC project in Nepal. However, it is not implemented yet due to the absence of endorsement from the parliament.

Responding to the urge, Oli stated that the UML would take decisions once the government makes its official position regarding the endorsement of the MCC.

I had made several efforts to endorse the MCC from the parliament but it was not materialized due to the denial of then ruling ally CPN Maoist Center, Oli said.
