Medical Sector Reform Activist Dr. KC Starts His 19th Fast-Unto-Death Strike From Jumla

Kathmandu, Nepal, September 14, 2020: Senior orthopedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC has on Monday started his 19th fast-unto-death strike reiterating his past demands of reforming in the medical sector. 

The stalwart of the medical sector reform activist Dr KC has begun his fast-unto-death strike from Jumla district demanding appointments at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) on seniority basis and reforms in the medical sector.
While starting fast-unto-death strike Dr KC issued a press release alleging the government for showing apathy to fulfilling past agreements to reform the medical sector. 

He has also put forward new five-point demands that includes immediate start of academic sessions at Geta Medical College and Rapti Academy of Health Sciences, start preparations to establish government medical colleges and hospitals in Doti, Dadeldhura, Udayapur, Illam and Panchthar districts.

I have no option rather than starting the fast-unto-death strike because the government shown apathy to live up even its own commitments made before me during the past strike including the amendments to the Medical Education Act, Dr. KC said while briefing about purpose of his 19th fast-unto-death strike.
