NC To Lift House Obstruction From Today

Kathmandu, Nepal, February 11 2020: Responding to the widespread concerns over the continue obstruction in the parliament, the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) likely to end the obstruction to let function the parliament from Tuesday. 

The NC had obstructed three consecutive meetings of the parliament protesting the decision of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to implicate its leader Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar in the Lalita Niwas land scam. 

A meeting of the Central Working Committee of the NC on Monday has asked its parliamentary party to end the house obstruction from Tuesday. It is said that parliamentary party meeting scheduled for Tuesday will take official decision. The meeting of the parliament was adjourned for Tuesday. 

However, the NC has decided to continue its nation-wide protests against of the ‘politically motivated’ decision of the CIAA to charge Gachchhadar in a corruption case related to the Lalita Niwas land scam. 

During the meeting Gachchhadar had also said that CIAA had filed corruption case against him under political influence of the ruling party. 

I had just approved the master plan for expansion of the prime minister’s official residence in Baluwatar in the capacity of the minister for physical infrastructure and planning before forwarding the file in the cabinet for the endorsement, Gachchhadar said in the meeting.
