NCP Co-Chairs In Foreign Trip: Coincidence Or Preplanned?
  Kathmandu, Nepal      August 03 2019

Kathmandu, Nepal, August 4, 2019: As the secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has failed reach on the conclusion, the appointment of department heads and reshuffling of cabinet has pushed for at least three weeks.

As CNP Co-chairs KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal are scheduled to visit foreign countries on the name of treatment, the secretariat meeting of the ruling head NCP has been postponed until August 13, 2019.

According to the party source, Prime Minister Oli will go to Singapore on August 3 for a health check-up while Dahal will embark on a family tour to United Arab Emirates on Tuesday for the treatment of his ailing wife Sita Dahal.

Chairman duos’ foreign trip is taken meaningfully not only within the party’s rank and file but also outside of the party and diplomatic level. Though the recent foreign trip of Oli and Dahal would have a coincidence, various suspicions are also being casted from different level.

Monday’s meeting was expected to resolve various contentious issues related to power-sharing in the NCP's various departments including the issue of reshuffling the cabinet. The Secretariat meeting, the powerful decision making body of the government head NCP has repeatedly been postponing thanks to the internal rivalry among the leaders.
