  Kathmandu, Nepal      November 04 2019

Kathmandu, Nepal, November 04, 2019: The ruling head Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has recommended names of candidates for the vacant posts of the governors of all seven provinces.
Secretariat meeting of the party held on Monday at Prime Minister’s residence at Baluwatar made the recommendation to Amik Sherchan  of Chitwan, Somnath Adhikari Pyasi of Kaski, Tilak Pariyar  of Banke, Sharmila Tripathi of Kathmandu, Dharmanath Yadav of Siraha, Bishnu Prasai of Jhapa and Govinda Kalauni of Dadheldhura for the governor posts.
The recommendation is made just a day after President Bidya Devi Bhandari sacked the previous governors on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers held on Sunday. Govinda Bahadur Tumbahang of Province 1, Ratneshwor Lal Kayastha of Province 2, Anuradha Koirala of Province 3, Baburam Kunwar of Gandaki Province, Uma Kant Jha of Province 5, Durga Keshar Khanal of Karnali Province and Mohan Raj Malla of Sudurpaschim Province were relieved on Sunday.
As erstwhile Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba led government had recommended their names to initiate process the formation of the provincial government, the NCP led incumbent government had expressed its dissatisfaction.
Though the previous governors were sacked as per the constitutional provision of the Article 165 (1) (b), the main opposition Nepali Congress has termed the decision as of the political antagonism.
