Nepal breaks past records of single day infection and death toll

Kathmandu, Nepal, May 10, 2021: breaking the previous records, Nepal has on Monday recorded highest number of coronavirus infection and death. 

The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has reported 139 deaths from across the country in the past 24 hours. With the addition, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus has advanced to 3859.

Similarly, Nepal has also recorded 9127 coronavirus infections cases from across the country in the past 24 hours. With the addition, the infection tally of the country has reached to 403,794.

The Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, has recorded 2,775 infections cases in the past 24 hours. Likewise, 505 cases were reported in Lalitpur while 327 cases were reported in Bhaktapur district. 

According to the MoHP, 9127 infection cases were identified while conducting 17,623 PCR tests and 788 antigen tests in the past 24 hours in different labs across the country. 

There are currently 93,141 active cases of coronavirus across the country. Of them, 6,715 individuals have been staying in isolation centers while remaining 86,426 individuals are staying in home isolations. Similarly, 910 persons are in ICUs and 275 others are in ventilators across the country.
