Kathmandu, Nepal, January 21, 2020: Coronavirus infection tally of the country has advanced to 268,646 after 336 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours.
Of the total newly infected cases, 122 are females while 214 are males. According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), of the newly recorded cases in the past 24 hours, 198 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley alone.
Likewise, 226 people, who were earlier infected with the coronavirus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition, total recovery tally of the country has advanced to 262,868.
Meanwhile, death toll related to the coronavirus infection has advanced to 1,979 after four more fatalities related to the virus recorded in the past 24 hours.
There are currently 3,799 active cases across the country. Of them, only 172 individuals have been staying in various quarantine facilities.
According to the MoHP, 336 new cases were recorded while conducting 5,030 PCR tests in different labs across the country in the last 24 hours. With the addition, a total of 2,031,756 PCR tests have been carried out in the country till date.
