Kathmandu, Nepal, May 22, 2020: The constitution of Nepal is being revised to incorporate the newly issued political, administrative map of the country that includes Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh and Kalapani areas of Nepal that were unilaterally encroached by India.
Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has on Friday registered a constitution amendment bill in the Parliament Secretariat on behalf of the Government of Nepal to amend the constitution.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Shiv Maya Tumbahangphe registered the constitution amendment proposal rightly after the cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar decided to this effect.
The constitution amendment proposal has proposed to amend the Schedule 3 of the constitution to include the newly revised map of Nepal.
Following the cabinet decision held on last Monday, the government had issued the new political and administrative map of the country including encroached Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh and Kalapani areas of Nepal that lies at border between Nepal at India in Darchula district.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has already objected to the issuance of the map by Nepal even claiming that the new updated map issued b Nepal has included Indian Territory.
