Nepal government takes insistent measure against of Covid-19 pandemic

Kathmandu, Nepal, March 19, 2020: The government has taken an insistent measure to contain the spread fear of deadly coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. The government has not only decided to cancel the examinations but also restricted unnecessary gathering and movement of people until April 30.

The government has made the decision on Wednesday responding to the call of the World Health Organization (WHO) to take insistent measures to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic those no positive case of the coronavirus is detected yet in Nepal.  

The High-Level Coordination Committee on Covid-19 Prevention and Control formed under the leadership of deputy prime minister and minster for defense Ishowr Pokhrel has on Wednesday also decided to restrict the entry into Nepal from the countries where the coronavirus pandemic has already spared. The travel restriction will be effective from March 20 midnight till April 15.

Likewise, the government has also urged one and all not to make movements outside the home except of emergencies and to restrict gatherings of more than 25 persons at any places or events. With the decision all the cinema halls, cultural centers, stadiums, gyms, health clubs, museums, swimming pools, entertainment spaces, dance bars and clubs will have to shut down till April 30.

Similarly, the government has also urged the people to use hand sanitizers and disinfectants while traveling and visiting shopping malls.
