Nepal witnessed 114 new COVID-19 positive cases in a single day on Wednesday

Kathmandu, Nepal, May 27, 2020: Nepal has witnessed 114 coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases in a single day on Wednesday.

This is the first time the country witnessed hundred plus coronavirus positive cases is a single day. 

With the 114 new cases total numbers of Coronavirus positive cases have reached to 886. 

During regular media briefing, Dr. Bikash Devkota, the spokesperson for Ministry of Health and Population, said among the newly identified cases, 36 from Rautahat, 17  from Jhapa, 16 from Banke, 15 from Dang 11 from Saptari, 7 from Bara 6 from Baglung, 3 from Rukum East, 2 from, Siraha, and 1 from  Makawanpur.

According to him 38 cases were confirmed during the tests at National Public Health Laboratory, Teku, 11 at Dharan based B.P. Koirala Institute of Health and Science, 17  at Koshi Hospital and Hetauda-based lab , four at Pokhara provincial hospital, 18 at Dang based COVID-19 lab and 16 from Bheri Hospital.

Till the date, 183 COVID-19 patients have discharged after recovery from different hospitals. Likewise, four persons have died due to the   COVID-19.
