  Kathmandu, Nepal      August 28 2019

Kathmandu, Nepal, Aug 28, 2019: The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has strongly objected the recent cabinet’s meeting held through video conference.

As Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is currently in Singapore for his health check-up, a cabinet meeting was held on Monday through video conferencing system for the first time in Nepal.

Bishwa Prakash Sharma, spokesperson of the NC, said so while speaking to the media persons at the party headquarters in Sanepa on Monday. Earlier, NC’s Chef Whip Bal Krishna Khand had also strongly objected the cabinet meeting through the video conferencing system.

‘Cabinet meeting held via online video conference was not acceptable for us,’ NC spokesperson Sharma Said terming the meeting as an instance of violation of privacy.

Holding cabinet meeting through the video conferencing system was a serious error as Prime Minister had already delegated the responsibility of the acting Prime Minister to the Deputy Prime Minister, Sharma said.
