Kathmandu, Nepal, February 24, 2021: Splinter faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) led by Prime Minister KP Oli has decided to face the no-confidence motion registered against him in the parliament by the dissident faction of his own party led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal.

Standing committee meeting of the Oli led faction of the ruling NCP held on Wednesday decided to call the meeting of the restored lower house of the federal parliament within 13 days, as per the verdict of the Supreme Court (SC).

While passing the verdict over the cases filed against the dissolution of the House, the Supreme Court had on Tuesday not only reinstated the dissolved house but also ordered to call the meeting of the parliament within 13 days.

Prime Minister Oli had dissolved the parliament on December 20, 2020 after the dissident faction of his own party led by Dahal and Nepal registered the no-confidence motion.

There was a speculation that Prime Minister Oli would tender his resignation by addressing the nation on Wednesday.
