Kathmandu, Nepal, July 3, 2020: Meeting between the chairman duo of the ruling head Nepal Communist Party (NCP)-Pushpa Kamal Dahal and KP Sharma Oli failed to patch up the widening differences but paved the way to escalate further after both the leaders remanded on their respective stands.
As Prime Minister Oli reiterated his stand not to step-down from both the posts- Prime Minister and chairman of the party- as of the bottom line forwarded by the dissident leaders for the one-man-one-post, the meeting between the chairman duo ended inconclusively.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Oli even warned Dahal not to continue the ongoing standing committee meeting on the issue of changing the leadership of the party and government, a reliable source close to the Prime Minister office at Baluwatar, said.
The internal rift of the ruling head has come into surface after majority of dissident leaders demanded resignation of Oli from both posts- Prime Minister and party chairman in the alleged charge of conducting activities against interests of party and general public.
Ongoing standing committee meeting of the party had on Thursday decided to postpone the meeting till Saturday with the aim to narrow down the differences for amicable solutions.
