Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to hold bilateral meeting with British Prime Minister Theresa May, on June 11. As Nepal and UK share century long bilateral relations after both the countries and have had established diplomatic relationship about 203 years back, Prime Minister Oli’s visit in UK and meeting with its Prime Minister is taken meaningfully. UK Prime Minister May has already resigned from the post.

The government has believed that Prime Minister’s Europe visit would help to strengthen relations and to boost foreign investment. According to the Foreign Ministry, visit to three European countries- Switzerland UK and France- will feature the investment issue prominently.

However, the government is yet to clear that whether the issues related to the British Gurkhas, who have been under discussion for a long time for inequality in pension, would be raised or not during the UK visit.
