Kathmandu, Nepal, May 20, 2024: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is going to secure a vote of confidence from the House of Representatives (HoR) today.
Prime Minister Dahal is going to take the vote of confidence after the coalition partner Janata Samajwadi Party headed by then Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Upendra Yadav left support to the government.
Prime Minister Dahal is taking the vote of confidence from the HoR as per the Article 100 (2) of the Constitution.
The constitution has made a provision that in case a political party that has lent its support to the Prime Minister represents is divided or a political party of coalition government withdraws its support, the Prime Minister shall table a motion in the HoR for a vote of confidence within 30 days.
