Prime Minister Oli to take a vote of confidence on Sunday

Kathmandu, Chitwan, Nepal, July 15, 2024:  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has made a plan to take a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives on Sunday.

The decision of the Prime Minister Oli to take a vote of confidence on Sunday is being dispatched to the Speaker of the HoR likely today, source close to the UML said. 

Prime Minister Oli, who is also the Chairman of the CPN UML, was appointed as Prime Minister on July 12.  He officially had taken the oath of office as Nepal’s new Prime Minister on July 15.

Oli was appointed as the Prime Minister according to the Article 76 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2015 after immidiate past Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal failed to secure vote of confidence from the HoR.
