Kathmandu, Nepal, January 13, 2020:  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has claimed that the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has not split yet.

Prime Minister Oli, who is also the chairman of a splinter faction of the NCP, claimed so while sending a letter to the Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday.

The NCP has not split yet and Pushpa Kamal Dahal is still the second-ranked chairman of the party, Oli has mentioned in the letter sent responding to the letter of the EC regarding the dispute of the party.

The EC had on Thursday sent a letter to both the rival factions– one led by Oli and another by Dahal and Madhav Kumar Dahal- asking to produce necessary details to claim the authenticity of the party.

Following the vertical division of the party, both the factions have moved to the EC to claim the authenticity of the party.
