Ruling NCP Postpones Scheduled Central Committee Meeting for a Month

Kathmandu, Nepal, October 28, 2020: The Central Committee meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), which was scheduled for October 31 to November 2, has been postponed for a month owing to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Issuing a press statement on Wednesday, the ruling NCP has stated that next meeting will be held on November 30 to December 4. 

As the ruling NCP has faced internal rift on ranges of issues including the recent expansion of the cabinet, the decision to postpone the central committee meeting is taken importantly from different sectors.
The secretariat of the party’s head office has made clear in the release stating that the meeting was postponed due to the reason of COVID-19 pandemic.

The scheduled meeting was believed to start necessary preparations for the party's upcoming general convention, which is scheduled for April 7 to 12 next year.
