Kathmandu, Nepal, July 8, 2020: Former lawmaker and leader of the Janata Samajwadi Party, Sarita Giri has on Thursday filed a complaint at the Election Commission challenging the party’s decision to sack her from the posts.
Party’s decision to expel me from the lawmaker and member of the party stands against of the party’s rules and regulation, Giri has stated in the compliant further adding that only the central committee can takes such a decision but not the working committee of the party.
As the Election Commission is the only constitutional body responsible for the elections in the country, Giri has also asked the commission to investigate into the matter.
Similarly, Giri has also written a letter to the Speaker of House of Representatives, Agni Prasad Sapkota claiming that party’s decision to remove her from the House was against of the legal provisions.
The Janata Sawajwadi Party had expelled her from the member of the parliament and party on the charge of violating the party’s directives to withdraw the proposal registered against of the Constitution amendment bill introduced by the government.
