Kathmandu, Nepal, June 8, 2021:Chief Minister (CM) of Sudur Paschim Province, Trilochan Bhatta is going to face the vote of confidence Tuesday.  As CPN UML decided to withdraw support to the Bhatta led government, he on Monday proposed a vote on confidence.

The CPN UML’s Sudur Paschim provincial Committee has already directed its lawmakers not to cast votes for CM Bhatta.  However, it is likely that some lawmakers, particularly the ministers, would not abide by the party’s directives, thanks to the division of the party into two rival factions- on is led by party charman and Prime Minister KP Oli and another by senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal.

CM Bhatta needs at least 27 votes to win confidence of the house out of total 52 lawmakers in the province. It is believed that CM Bhatta would win the vote of confidence in the support of the lawmakers from the dissident UML led by Madhav Kumar Nepal, Nepali Congress and the Upendra Yadav led Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) including the CPN (Maoist Center).
