Kathmandu, Nepal, June 6, 2021:  The Supreme Court (SC) has issued an interim order not to implement the decision to relieve Krishna Thapa as the member of Gandaki Province Assembly.

Responding to a writ petition filed against the Rastriya Janamorcha (RJM) decision to relieve Thapa from the membership of Gandaki Province Assembly, a single bench of Justice Kumar Chudal issued an interim order not to relieve as the member of the provincial assembly.

The RJM was sacked from the province assembly member after he refused to support the opposition alliance comprising the Nepali Congress (NC), CPN (Maoist Center), Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and RJM while staking a claim for the new government formation in the province.

Thapa was elected as a provincial assembly member from Baglung district representing the RJM.
