UML candidate Nembang elected from Ilam 2

Kathmandu, Nepal, April 30, 2024: Candidate of the main opposition CPN-UML Suhang Nembang has been elected to the member of House of Representatives from Ilam constituency-2. 

In the by-poll held on April 27, he elected by securing 27,772 votes. His nearest rival candidate Dambar Bahadur Khadka of the Nepali Congress (NC) got just 21,942 votes

Similarly, independent candidate Dakendra Sing Limbu (Thegim) collected 11,457 votes while the candidate of Rastriya Swatantra Party Milan Limbu got just 5,050. Similalry, Mani Bahadur Limbu from Mangol National Organization got just 816 votes

Altogether total of 19 candidates from 12 political parties and seven independent candidates were in the competition. 

According to the election commission, 69,287 persons cast votes out of 115,889 voters registered in the constituency,
