Biratnagar, Nepal, November 04, 2023: CPN-UML has left the Koshi provincial government. The UML has officially left the government after Ram Bahadur Rana Magar, who had became a minister representing UML, resigned from his position on Saturday morning.
Magar met Chief Minister Kedar Karki on Saturday morning and submitted his resignation. UML became angry after Chief Minister Karki appointed one minister each from the CPN Maoist Center and CPN United Socialist Party.
The UML had supported Karki, who had rebelled from the Nepali Congress, to become the Chief Minister. The UML had wanted to run the Koshi government on its own way.
However, Chief Minister Karki had appointed ministers from the CPN Maoist Center and CPN United Socialist Party with the aim to give a sense of consensus government.
