Writ petition filed against government’s decision to reshuffle the cabinet

Kathmandu, Nepal, June 7, 2021: Challenging to the government’s recent reshuffle of the cabinet, a writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court (SC) on Monday.

A team of lawyers including senior Advocate Dinesh Tripathi jointly filed a writ petition in the SC demanding interim order to scrap the recent reshuffle of the cabinet by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

The petitioners have a claim that care taker government cannot reshuffle the cabinet. 

Prime Minister Oli on Friday had reshuffled the cabinet to including 10 ministers from the Mahanta Thakur and Rajendra Mahato led faction of the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and two others from his own party, CPN-UML.
